Apart from its aesthetic advantage, the real innovation in Gen III+ lies in Digital Dosing, which gives the user improved control over the insecticide in the mist. During the replenishment routine, the user is prompted to establish the mix ratio of water to insecticide that will be used in building the batch of dilute material. Versus a drum system, this fingertip control allows an improved tradeoff between 1) the concentration of insecticide in the mist, 2) the duration of the mist and 3) the replenishment frequency. For example, effectiveness may be improved, without consuming more insecticide, by reducing the
